Stacking Single 5-Gallon Buckets

Stacking buckets can sometimes feel like an art. Our buckets provide a .45” lip to help prevent tip-overs and improve stacking performance, however, always be mindful of the following recommendations. Use cautious judgement when stacking filled buckets to ensure safety of individuals.

Palletizing Empty 5-Gallon Buckets

If empty buckets are being stacked for shipment or storage, each pallet is usually arranged in a 4 x 3 arrangement (48” x 40”). The skid stacking height of buckets or buckets and lids combined should be no greater than 91” in height. These parameters allow for up to 252 empty 5-gallon buckets per skid or 180 5-gallon buckets with lids per skid.

IMPORTANT: Never allow buckets to overlap the edge of the pallet. Please refer to the pallet shipping data section below to learn more about dimensions for shipping.

5 Gallon Bucket Measurements for Wraps

Many of our clients ask about labeling their 5-gallon buckets. We use heat transfer printing and offer full or half wrap. Full wrap is 31” around the bucket. There must be a 1.25” gap at the top and a 1” gap at the bottom allowing for 8” height for a wrap.

Opening and Closing 5 Gallon Buckets

We recommend using a lid lifter tool to open sealed lids on our 5-gallon buckets. We now offer lid lifters as an add-on item when requesting a quote.

To close a lid on a bucket, we recommend using a dead blow hammer. A dead blow hammer will minimize bounce-back and reduce damage to the bucket and lid.
